Day Six: Yoga and Nature


Hello Yogis!

Day six of the Lotus Yoga Off The Mat Challenge theme is yoga and nature. How does your yoga practice connect you with nature? How does nature connect you deeper in your yoga practice? What connection do you find between yoga and nature?

In response to these questions, these are my thoughts.

Yoga is about inner peace and calm:

The sound of waves lapping at the seashore

Watching blooms of clouds float by in a bright blue sky

A gentle breeze moving your hair across your neck


Yoga is about self-awareness and self-love:

>> The first morning frost, crisp and fresh on your skin
>> Crunching autumn leaves underfoot while hiking in the woods
>> Watching the sunset over a summer lake





Yoga is about strength:

The grandeur of mountains

The fury of winds




Yoga is about joy:

Inhaling the scents of new spring: salty sea; fresh-cut grass; a lilac bush

Dancing in the rain; jumping in puddles

A snowball fight




Yoga is about life:
