Wellness: Begin Where You Are Now

Wellness.

When I hear this word, I get a shot of guilt in my gut.

Wellness.

I think of colorful flow charts, the food pyramid, hospitals and clinics, people dressed in scrubs telling me what’s wrong with me and what I should and should not do. I want to cringe away from this word, “wellness”, because before I even broach the subject, I know I’ve failed. I have less than stellar health habits; I already know that. There’s too much to change. I don’t know where to begin. I conclude with the resolution that I’m a pretty lousy person.

So who am I to write a blog about wellness? Certainly I’m no expert. What I am is just a regular person who wants to be happier more often, who wants to enjoy life a little bit more, who really wants to be “WELL”, without all the guilt. So I decided that I could best learn about wellness by sharing my questions, doing some research, and writing about what I learn.

And so, I’m inviting you, my readers, to join me, in a wellness journey. I hope this blog will result in discussions amongst us all as we share our questions and our knowledge so that together, we can all improve our quality of life here in East Central Indiana.
